"This Herbal Supplement for Menstrual Health provides natural relief from painful menstruation, a common concern in both primary dysmenorrhea and Kashtartava. Formulated with Ayurvedic principles, it works by removing obstructions in blood flow (srotarodha) and pacifying Vata Dosha to alleviate discomfort. The supplement's ushna veerya (warming potency) effectively addresses symptoms such as pain, headache, breast tenderness, appetite loss, nausea, and vomiting. Its sothahara, shoolanashak, and rajorodhnaashak properties reduce inflammation by lowering concentrations of prostaglandins, the inflammatory mediators responsible for cramps and pain. Beyond physical relief, it helps manage psychological symptoms like anxiety, depression, and mood swings, thanks to its nidrajanana (sleep-inducing) effect, ensuring holistic care for menstrual well-being."

Mechanism of action

The probable cause of menstrual pain is excessive or imbalanced amount of prostaglandin F2α secreted from the endometrium, due to which the uterine contraction increases with an irregular pattern. This results in increased basal tone and increased active pressure. Uterine hyper contractility, decreased uterine blood flow and increased peripheral nerve hypersensitivity contribute to pain.
Vijaya (Cannabis) and Apamarg help reduce inflammation (shothahara) and alleviate abdominal pain (shoolanashak), Aloe vera facilitates removal of menstrual blood flow obstruction (rajorodhnaashak). The above properties of the ingredients helps in reducing the concentration of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and thus reduces pain.
