What Happens in an Ayurvedic Wellness Consultation

A walk-through of a first-time Ayurvedic wellness session, and how to make the most of it.

Why people book a consultation

Ayurveda has a lot to offer, but starting can feel overwhelming. There are hundreds of herbs, dozens of daily routines, seasonal recommendations, dosha-based advice — and no clear place to begin.

Most people who book an Ayurvedic Wellness Consultation are somewhere between curious and confused. They've heard about Ayurveda, maybe read a few things, and want a real conversation with someone qualified before adding anything to their routine.

What actually happens in a session

At Explore Vedi, a Wellness Consultation is 45 minutes with a BAMS-qualified practitioner. Here's what a typical session looks like:

Before the call

You fill in a short intake form when you book — basic details about your daily routine, sleep, digestion, energy levels, and what you're hoping to work on. The practitioner reviews this before your call.

The first 10 minutes

The practitioner asks you to walk them through a typical day. Not a self-improvement pitch — just what actually happens. When you wake up, what you eat, when you eat, how you sleep, how you feel through the day. This is where the real information lives.

The next 20 minutes

Based on what they hear, the practitioner explains what Ayurveda might say about your daily rhythm — often in terms of the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), the times of day when your body is best suited to certain activities, and small adjustments that could support your daily wellness. There's usually a discussion of your diet, your sleep environment, and your movement patterns.

The last 15 minutes

This is where the practical plan takes shape. What would you actually change, and in what order? What one or two things would make the most difference for you specifically? Are there any Ayurvedic supplements that fit your routine — and if so, which ones and how? What can you drop or ignore?

After the call

A written wellness plan is sent to your email within 48 hours. It captures the recommendations discussed and any suggested supplements. There's no obligation to buy anything from us.

How to get the most out of it

  • Be honest about your real daily routine, not the one you wish you had
  • Have your intake form filled thoughtfully — spending 10 minutes on it makes the call more useful
  • Come with a specific goal or question if you have one, but you don't have to
  • Take notes during the call — most people find they want to refer back later

What a Wellness Consultation is not

Ayurvedic Wellness Consultation is a wellness service. It is not medical consultation. Our practitioners provide traditional Ayurvedic wellness guidance based on classical texts and their training. If you have a specific medical condition or symptom, please consult a qualified physician alongside any Ayurvedic guidance.
